Carbon-credit sale to help energy trust

October 6, 2006

Elementary students will be selling "children's carbon credits" to help offset the release of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere at DeHart's Shell gas station from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

The gas station is at 2220 Mission St. SE.

Former Gov. John Kitzhaber is scheduled to be at the gas station at 1:45 p.m. to talk and hear the students' presentation about global warming.

Each credit is $1 and will be sent to the Climate Trust of Oregon, an organization that invests the money in renewable energy resources and carbon offset programs.
